The internet world has inversely answered my prayers for new tunes (well, one of them anyway). The Boy King Islands debut album, Fall, has finally been released! I cannot stop listening. Also I'm not sure if it's a good source or not but the plustapes blog features the boys as well as some other lesser known artists. So maybe in the time between my sleep and general everyday rush to accomplish daily tasks.. I can check some of this stuff out! However, my call for help to educate my baby nugget ears with more outlets for new musica still stands. Commence comments.

It really is time to invest in new music. My current 'collection' is hella sad. But I really haven't found any good outlets to discovering things. I'm stuck on a select few stations on Pandora. I really wish there were some great new soul artists emerging. I'm finding that it really is one of my favorite genres. I am in love with all of the classics of course.. but some additions would be nice. I like folky stuff too, but a good jive goes perfectly with this crisp winter weather. So I guess this is my pathetic attempt to send out an S.O.S. to the internet world, with minimal hope I may catch a fish.

AND SO IT BEGINS!

I have officially been accepted into The American University in Cairo!! As you can imagine I am quite overjoyed, however, I am also quite overwhelmed. Spring classes begin January 30.. roughly 3 months from now. I amslowly acquiring new lists and tid bits of info that I need for preparation. Hopefully I will get everything in order and on time. I keep hearing pretty great things about the school so that makes me even more excited! In actuallity, however, it has yet to set in that I will be living in Egypt, assimilating, learning, growing, experiencing hardships, and hopefully making the best of them. I find myself limiting how much I'm allowed to be afraid. This does not mean that I am being dishonest with myself, I'm aware that there are serious risks that may come with this decision. I anticipate great change, and I have no idea what that looks like. I think that may be the part of my thoughts that scares me the most. I really cannot fathom this experience, but I feel it pulling me in even more. So with that said, I must go.
